Overall Situation
Recent rainfall has helped maintain generally good water levels in the rivers of the Var department.
According to the French Federation of Fishing in the Var, the current conditions are encouraging for the spring and show clear improvement compared to previous years.
One notable example is the Issole River, which started flowing again in February 2024 after two years of drought.
At its peak, it reached a flow rate of 12,000 liters per second.

Areas Under Watch
Despite the improvement, some areas of the Var remain under watch.
As of October 1, 2024, 89 municipalities were under drought alert and 64 under drought vigilance. Local water use restrictions may still apply.
There have also been episodes of flooding, for example, the Argens River reached levels close to those seen in 2014 in Roquebrune-sur-Argens.
The Nartuby River was also placed on yellow alert for floods following rainfall.

Conclusion
In summary, thanks to recent rains, the rivers in the Var currently have satisfactory water levels.
However, the situation remains fragile, and careful water management is still crucial to avoid future shortages or floods.
